Cafe de’ Mercanti plays a vital role in the coffee shop landscape, offering quality espresso & pastries, as well as exceptional service. The concept began years ago in a town near Rome where Gianni Battista worked with Francesco Corbi (owner of the original Cafe de’ Mercanti). In 2012, our cafe was opened as an homage to the traditional espresso bars spread all over the country of Italy. The coffee and the atmosphere proved itself to be irresistible to the residents of Monkland village who frequent Cafe de’ Mercanti almost daily. Three years later Gianni met another barista, Frank Miozzi, who at the time was working at a "coffee institution" in Montreal. Gianni and Frank shared the same passion for coffee and together decided to open a second location. The Old Montreal shop opened in December of 2015 and hopes to continue to serve a quality tasting coffee to its' dedicated customers for as long as possible.
